I'm in the 50 shortlisted artists of The Lynx Prize. There will be 4 exhibitions in the near future, in 4 different cities. The first show takes place now in Trieste, from the 25th of September, till the 16th of October.
The following exhibition is an experiment that will try to examine the origin and the structural and theoretical role of the LINE in contemporary art. The line is one of the most atomic tool of the visual arts. We make a selection among different art method and mediums, how artists of nowdays use lines to create messages and artworks. The exhibition presents the aestethic and the structural role of the lines in the contemporary art. With this selection we try to answer the question: how far we are from the prehistoric rock carvings? However the basic role of the line in arts changed or not?
Our group exhibition called Maschienenmensch will be exhibited till 31th of December in the famous Fabrica de Pensula, in Kolozsvar (Cluj Napoca) with a travel version. The organizer is the Gallery Deak 17, the curator is Dorka Kaposi.
The painting called 'In my dreams I'm running', is exhibited in Balatonalmádi, at the Balaton Exhibition (a national fine arts biennale), and I won the prize of Tihany with that. The exhibition is open till 31th of August.
After 3 round of juging, my artwork, titled "In my Dreams I'm running", is exhibited at the Summer Exhibition, in London. The exhibition is open from the 9th of June, till the 17th of August, in the Royal Academy of Arts.
NECROMONICON - Hungarian Contemporary Visual Art Exhibition
The goal of the exhibition is to create a comprehensive selection of works based on the equivocal pictorial tradition. We will represent a wide variety of materials and techniques: such as painting, photography, object and installation, which carry conflicting contents for the first sight;, but their symbolism is totally homogeneous. However, this is not a coincidence, but a conscious synthesis of theme and content.
The artists show a sort of model of their own depths: such as daily demons or the connection to the higher powers.
The exhibition attempts to approximate the feeling of transcendence and refers to contemporary visual experiences in our days. There is something demonic in every artwork: in the trophies, transformed into objects, in the digital aggression closed into installation and also in the photographs stiffened into death masks.
Fragment of the speech Péter Vasadi’s, given at the exhibition opening at Vis Major literaure café, 2009 "And finally, perhaps the most important: her colours. Does the form initiate the colour or does the colour initiate the form? Who knows? She must remain in this uncertainty since this faithfulness / loyalty is the price of making colours give the impression of shapes and shapes give the impression of unusual colours. Unusal shades provoke the unusual relations – red skies, green horses and yellow grass. Improvisation in Music might create a similar, unexpected richness."
